Project
Welcome

The SimpleCenter project was created to provide the best possible experience for managing and organizing digital media. SimpleCenter is the open alternative to proprietary media management applications that dominate the market.

We are driven by the following principles:

  • User experience, not feature lists, is the number one priority. Features that do not apply to a significant portion of the user community will not be included in the core product.
  • Users should be allowed to work with their media without regard to where it came from, how it is encoded, and what device they want to use it on.
  • Selection of media management software should be separate from the selection of digital media hardware. Users should feel as though SimpleCenter was designed specifically for their device.
  • Users should be able to customize their experience through a simple process of downloading optional plugins.
  • It is user requirements, not competitive products or hype, that determine which features should be included.
  • Users are as important as developers in creating open source software.
